Candle Care

Willow + Maple formulations are built on a foundation of disciplined craftsmanship and structural integrity. To maintain the equilibrium of your scent and ensure the longevity of the vessel, we prescribe the following ritual of care.

Preparation

To facilitate a clean, architectural flame and a smoke-free experience, the lead-free cotton wick must be trimmed to 5mm prior to every lighting. This ensures the scent remains pure and the glass remains clear.

The Burn

The Memory Cycle: Wax possesses a 'memory.' Upon the first lighting, allow the melt pool to reach the perimeter of the vessel. Extinguishing the flame prematurely may cause 'tunneling,' compromising the lifespan of the candle.

Thermal Discipline: We recommend a maximum burn time of four hours. If you wish to extend the atmosphere, extinguish the flame, recalibrate the wick, and relight.

Environment: Position the vessel on a stable, heat-resistant surface. Ensure the candle remains within your line of sight and away from drafts, textiles, and those who require supervision.

Preservation

Extinguishing: To maintain the integrity of the aromatic profile and prevent the release of smoke, use a dedicated snuffer rather than blowing out the flame.

Surface Protection: Always shield the surface beneath the vessel. The Willow + Maple lid may be used as a base to provide a thermal barrier between the glass and your interior surfaces.

The Final Descent

For your safety, discontinue use when approximately 10mm (1/2 inch) of wax remains. At this stage, the vessel has fulfilled its primary purpose. We encourage you to clean the glass, repurpose the minimalist vessel within your home, and select your next Willow + Maple olfactory anchor.
